Self Branding - Revised initial Ideas + Designs

I asked my peers what they associated with me. Self branding needs to focus on me and what I want to present to the world about myself, so I thought I would start with how I present myself now amongst my peers. This exercise was light hearted and allowed me to see what my peers thought of me. The most important sections of the mindmap were the colours they mostly associated me with, including, green, black and yellow. This is interesting as these could be used within a colour palette for my branding.

I also thought about how I would describe myself using a 5 word exercise.

- sunny
- bold
- bright
- thinker
- friendly

And then thought about what qualities I would like to present to the world about myself. This is slightly different to how I describe myself as I would still like to come off as professional. However, each one of the above words I could convey through my branding. I would also like to portray that I am passionate and competent.

Following this exercise, I decided what name I should use to present myself. My first and last name seemed too formal, and my first name wasn't individual enough. I am commonly known as 'Char' and I felt this was a lot more distinctive than Charlotte so I decided to run with this nickname. The word has four letters as well and I felt I may be able to play on this feature. After this, I sketched some initial designs to try and get some ideas flowing. Designs for these include script typefaces as well as lower case versions. However, the designs that most stood out to me were the capitalised sans serif fonts. This was backed by my peers who agreed and said they would associate this style with me more as opposed to any other. Personally, I felt a serif or script typeface didn't really reflect me as a
person.
