- learning more about design programs in inductions e.g. indesign, photoshop, illustrator
- how to manage my time more effectively
2 key things engaged you:
- OFFSET sheffield
- researching artists/designers to expand my mind and knowledge of graphic design
aims and ambitions for level 5:
- to push my self in terms of what I can do
- create more physical work, beyond just printing posters
2 key things not enjoyed:
- late nights working on projects
- having projects running along side each other with deadlines together
Rationale
For my poster I wanted to avoid using words at all and instead created a poster from icons made in Illustrator to represent each of my answers.
I created simple icons in Illustrator and laid them out in a grid format. For me my biggest achievement was learning how to manage my time more effectively. This issue portrayed by the clock and because it was a major thing for me I gave it the most space on the poster. All other icons were contained in boxes placed around the clock. My favourite icon is the computer. For the arrow I wanted one icon that would break the pattern and so did not surround it in a box - preferring instead to leave it against the white back ground.
Another major issue for me so far this year is the problem of having projects run simultaneously with deadlines at the same time. For this, instead of using an icon in a box - I used long rectangles running parallel to each other with a red section at the right end of each. I like how this breaks up the modular grid and adds interest to the poster due to the different shapes and bright green colours.
I based the posters colour scheme around the Adobe program icons, using the 2 shades in each icon to colour the entire poster.

Evaluation
If I were to redo this poster, I would've altered the colour scheme as looking back on it I don't think it works together as well as it could. I would either mute the colours or change it completely - perhaps give it a monochrome scheme with pops of colour for certain icons. Overall though I like the premise of my poster, I think my avoiding words makes the poster stand out from any others.
